FAQ. I enter all the scores. Why Class Buddy still ask me to enter final course grade?

Q. Why do we need to add the grade in the course info screen? This should be calculated based on the exam/quiz/weight info automatically.

A. Two main reasons,

Reason 1) Sometimes we add a future course with some expected grade to see what the final Cumulative GPA will be.

For example, if you just finished the third year in college or two more semesters to go. Then you may want to know what course grades are expected to make your Cumulative GPA higher than 3.5. then you can created some dummy courses you will take in the future and play with some grades there.

Reason 2) Entering the grade letter is more practical.

In may cases, the method to calculate the final course grade is too complicated or have some unclear parts so that most of the student cannot do it by just looking at syllabus.

Even in the case you clearly know how to calculate the final course grade, you never be able to calculate the course grade until the very final assignment, quiz or exam done. Then, why our user have to go through the hassle of entering whole grading scales which will be used only once at the end of semester!

As we talked with many users, we found manually entering the final grade is more practical than having everything calculated automatically. This may sound redundant and less sophisticated. But, it just takes one click and simple, sure way to enter.

Then, why do we need all the score fields in each assignments or quizzes and exam?

Entering score for assignments are not just for final course grade calculation. We always want to know how we are doing in the course and have the nice score summary.
